TEEN ART LESSONS
Color My World Arts Academy has a brand new TEEN STUDIO offering small group art classes for teens on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays and private lessons by appointment. We also offer teen internships, assistance in developing an artist portfolio for college, and help in seeking scholarships for teens wishing to pursue a degree in visual arts. The ART Institute of Chicago offers workshops for teens, Ages 13-19.
Saturday workshops at the Art Institute combine gallery experiences with art making in the studio. These workshops are offered one Saturday each month, and topics change regularly based on artwork and exhibitions in the museum. Participants explore the galleries and then get the chance to create their own artworks in the studio using a wide variety of media and techniques, from traditional to digital.
Selected Saturdays, 11:00-4:00 $10 members, $12 nonmembers. Registration required.

We think we live in a fast-paced world now, but people have felt that way for decades. The exhibition Go shows how artists in the 1900s expressed the rapid pace of their own time. After checking out the paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photographs, and textiles in the exhibition, you’ll work with an artist to explore movement, poetry, and painting together in the creation of your own mixed media work of art.

Change the Frame: Photography Workshop 10:00-3:00
Robert Frank has spent decades photographing scenes of everyday American life. See the world through his eyes in the exhibition Robert Frank: Photos Books Films. Then, learn a new photo technique and showcase your skills as you work with an artist to create photographic images of things that matter to you. Cameras will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own.

Want to find out what working in a museum is all about? Internships allow you to learn and apply important career skills like teamwork, communication, responsibility, and leadership while working with family, student, and teen visitors to the museum. Teen interns also get a special behind-the-scenes view of the Art Institute by meeting with professional staff throughout the museum.
If you are a Chicago Public School high school student who is at least 16 years old, you can apply for a summer teen internship through After School Matters.
Take a class at the School of the Art Institute’s Early College Program. Classes are offered year round.
